Host a Donation Drive for Heart to Heart

Thank you for your interest in holding a donation drive for Heart to Heart food pantry, a First Community mission. We welcome your participation and appreciate your support of the community. We gladly accept donations of any non-perishable food items, baby care, household or hygiene products.

Holding a food drive can be as simple as letting us know the dates you will be collecting donations and when you would like to deliver them to our site! If you would like, we can make arrangements for a representative from Heart to Heart to make a visit or virtual presentation to your group prior to or during the drive.

In the clickable document menu, we have provided a variety of resources for you to share with your group or organization. If you would like to include more information about Heart to Heart with your group, please let us know. We would be happy to provide additional information such as statistics, other ways to donate, and volunteer opportunities.

Getting the word out about your donation drive can easy if we combine our efforts, especially on social media. We would love to share information about your food drive and organization on our platforms as well, with your permission. The social media and photo agreement is used by the church to grant us permission to use photos from the event on our various social media platforms and website. This form is available in the document menu. Please complete, sign and return it to us prior to your event. We also ask that you tag our social media profiles in your posts so we can interact online.

In order to facilitate advertising your collection drive, we have made available a fillable PDF flyer in the document menu. You can use this flyer, in accordance with our brand guidelines, on your website, social media platforms or in print. If you’ll be using a flyer created by your own team, please share that with us prior to distribution. We can provide our logo only for flyers that have been approved by our marketing team. If you have a marketing or communications team member, please have them contact us to make arrangements.

We are unable to regularly staff a designated representative to receive donations. However, if you would like to meet with a representative at drop off, please contact us to schedule that in advance. We ask that larger donations (such as those that would be collected for a school-wide drive) be delivered on Friday afternoons when we have the appropriate volunteer staff available to receive and shelf the items.

If you have another creative idea to benefit Heart to Heart, we would love to hear from you. Please let us know if you have any questions, need additional information or if we can help make arrangements with you. Thank you again for your consideration and support.

Heart to Heart gladly accepts donations of goods in addition to monetary donations. All non-perishable donations are to be delivered directly to First Community South and left in the alley outside the kitchen on the cart marked for this purpose. There are directional signs in the parking lot.

If you have a perishable donation (fruit, meat, etc.), please drop it off during these times so our volunteers can properly and immediately store them:

  • Mondays 9 am – 11 am
  • Wednesdays 2 pm – 6 pm
  • Fridays 9 am – 1 pm

At this time, the pantry could particularly use:

  • Canned Vegetables (not beans)
  • Canned Hearty Soups
  • Baby Wipes and Diapers (esp. size 5-7)
  • Toiletries (toothpaste, soap, lotion, etc.)

Please do not leave donations for Heart to Heart at First Community North.
