The Midweek Missions program and Heart to Heart food pantry are happy to collaborate for this year’s Thanksgiving food drive. Whether used by Midweek or Heart to Heart, please know that your food donations will be received by a family in need this holiday season.
2025 Thanksgiving Food Drive
for Midweek Mission and Heart to Heart food pantry
Overview
This year’s Thanksgiving food drive benefiting the Midweek Missions Thanksgiving Basket project and Heart to Heart food pantry is in full swing. Please support our efforts by supplying the food items needed to pack baskets for 20 Franklinton families and provide Heart to Heart with the food clients will need to prepare a Thanksgiving meal.
Look for boxes where donations can be dropped off close to the K-5 classrooms, in the Rose Wing entrance and close to the coffee station at First Community North. Donations at South can be placed in the marked box located in the coatroom donation area.
The drive will conclude with a churchwide Thanksgiving food collection on Sunday, November 9 during all worship services. Donated items should be brought into worship and placed on the chancel to be blessed.
We are collecting:
- Canned Green Beans
- Stuffing Mix (box or bag)
- Cream of Mushroom soup
- Broth (chicken or turkey)
- Fried Onions
- Canned Sweet Potatoes
- Cranberry Sauce
- Gravy (chicken or turkey)
- Egg Noodles
Turkeys Needed!
Midweek Missions also needs 20 frozen turkeys. All turkeys must be delivered to the First Community North walk-in refrigerator on either Sunday, November 23, 8:30 am -12:30 pm or Monday, November 24 before 11 am.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q. How can I get a Thanksgiving meal, box, or turkey for my family?
A. There is no sign up, application, registration, or special time for our Thanksgiving program.
- Thanksgiving boxes (not including turkeys) will be offered in the drive-thru in addition to the standard items available to clients.
- Boxes will be distributed the week before Thanksgiving during regular drive-thru hours 9am-12pm on Tue Nov 20 and Thu Nov 25. This is part of the standard food assistance process and is not a stand-alone event.
- Turkeys are not included in the boxes by default, but may be offered separately.
- Both boxes and turkeys are offered to clients on a first come first serve basis. When we’re out, we’re out!
- We are not staff to check the number of remaining boxes or turkeys available to clients in the drive-thru.
- Plan accordingly if you wish to take advantage of this opportunity, as clients are eligible to receive food assistance once every 30 days. We are closed on Thanksgiving Day, Nov 27
Q. Is Heart to Heart food pantry open on Thanksgiving?
A. No. We are closed Wed Nov 26 through Friday Nov 28, including volunteer shifts.

- We cannot take donations while we are closed. This is especially true for perishable foods!
- Please hold donations until we reopen Mon, Dec 1. If you need to make a donation while we are closed, please check with NNEMAP, Hilliard Food Pantry, Dublin Food Pantry, or consider an alternative programs using the information below.y or provide contact for alternative programs.
Q. How can I donate a frozen turkey?
A. Contact us about making a turkey donation to the food pantry at FC South or sign up above to donate a turkey for the Midweek Missions project at FC North.
- Your turkey donation may be wasted if you do not contact us first!
- We have limited space to store and distribute food, especially frozen meat. Food safety guidelines require us to keep meat frozen at all times.
- Availability of space changes as we accept and distribute these items. Only the food pantry manager can make the call. Receptionists are unable to provide that information.

Q. What are the alternative programs for donors and those seeking food assistance?
A. We suggest using one of these resources:
