Pop UPdate

The Pop Up Pantry team delivered food directly to clients and their families at the following agency sites during the month of June:

  • June 2:      Commons at Livingston-40 clients
  • June 9:      Hope Recovery Services-30 clients
  • June 16:    Southpoint Village Apartments-34 clients
  • June 23:    Commons at Grant-20 clients

Monthly totals for 2021:

  • January 144
  • February 135
  • March 121
  • April 130
  • May 127
  • June 124

We continue to work with potential agency sites for expansion of the Pop Up Pantry on Thursday afternoons.  Our newest expansion site, Wedgewood Village Apartments, continues to have staffing issues. As a result, we were unable to schedule a delivery in June. We anticipate an initial delivery to this site or another new site during the month of July.

We continue to be blessed by donations of bread from the Monday Meals for the Homeless volunteer team and produce from Share and the Learn Garden team. Additionally, we are thankful for help from our newest volunteers, Katie Halley and Cathy Wheaton.

Although there has been much easing of the COVID-19 pandemic with the implementation of effective vaccines, food insecurity continues within the Columbus community.  We’re grateful for the opportunity to serve families and for our outreach ministry of the church
