Dave Westman
First Community Involvement: Dave has been a member of First Community since 2021. He is also involved in the Chancel Choir and serving as a Deacon.
Professional Experience: Mechanical & Systems Integration Engineer in multiple industries. Non-Profit Property & Facility Manager at the Reeb Center (home to a dozen agencies on the South Side of Columbus, including Mid-Ohio Foodbank).

Heart to Heart Experience: Volunteering with us since 2022, mainly in the Drive-Thru and now does regular MOFC Shop-Thru runs. Dave also served on this team in 2024.
Carolyn Barger
First Community Involvement: Carolyn has been a church member since 1991, and even met her husband at Camp Akita. She’s a member of Women’s Guild Group 7 and a Congregational Care Minister.
Professional Experience: Started her professional career as a high school history teacher.
Volunteer Experience:
- Volunteered then worked for Honor Flight Columbus as Assistant Executive Director until the pandemic. Continues to be very involved as a Volunteer.
- Also volunteers with the Upper Arlington Historical Society to highlight stories of UA Veterans.
Heart to Heart Involvement: Got involved in 2020, working in the Drive-Thru and also served on this team in 2024.
Samantha Miller
Professional Experience: Sam began her career as a special Event Planner in Toronto, and now works as a domestic engineer here in Ohio.
Volunteer Experience:
- Food bank organizations in Canada
- In Out of the Cold Program
- Breast Center of Saint Michaels Hospital, Toronto
- Columbus Cake Celebrations
Heart to Heart Involvement: Sam started volunteering almost three years ago.
Brent Davis
First Community Involvement: Member since 2018. Also a member of the Cambridge Choir
Professional Experience: Retired after 40+ years in public TV and radio.

- Music volunteer at Nationwide Children’s (pre-pandemic)
- Folk Alliance
- Columbus Folk Music Society
