Heart to Heart will host a series of events throughout the month of April to highlight the work of the food pantry, honor the service of our volunteers, and increase our impact to the community. The events summarized below allow for opportunities to learn, participate, and support!
April 1 – 30
Generosity Match-a-thon
For the entire month, all donations to Heart to Heart food pantry will be matched up to $20,000. This is made possible through a generous grant from Duke Thomas in loving memory of his wife Jill, one of Heart to Heart’s founders and first director.
To take advantage of this opportunity to double your generosity, make a contribution by check or online! Checks should be made out to “First Community Church”. Please indicate in the memo field, or include a note, that the donation is for Heart to Heart. You can mail or drop off a check at:

Special Offering during Easter Sunday worship services
At First Community Church, the offering taken during worship each Easter Sunday is designated for a specific mission. Heart to Heart has been named as the recipient this year. These contributions will be received during our matching campaign, so they will be doubled!

Sunday, April 19
Heart to Heart Sunday
On Sunday, April 19, you’re invited to join us at any First Community worship service. During the service, we will celebrate Heart to Heart and hear a sermon from Rev. John Girard, Minister of Mission & Justice. Volunteers are encouraged to wear their red Heart to Heart gear. After the service, all are welcome to join us for a refreshments outside worship spaces. Enjoy cookies and coffee, meet staff, and learn more about the work of our food pantry.

Annual Volunteer Award Dinner
Because love feeds our neighbors, we gather to feed one another. Join us for an evening of gratitude as we celebrate the volunteers who make Heart to Heart possible.
All Heart to Heart volunteers are invited to this annual event to honor your service. Join us for dinner, recognition, and camaraderie. We will hear from food pantry manager, Yohan Kim, and present awards to outstanding volunteers!
Registration will be open Friday, April 3 through Friday, April 17.
