Christmas Program Recap
Kudos to our Pop Up Pantry Team! You made Christmas Wishes come true for 96 children of 29 families at Southpoint Apartments! Today, 182 toys and gifts were delivered to these families. These gifts were generously donated by you, our church friends and neighbors, and the wonderful students, families and staff of Wickcliffe Progressive Elementary School. With additional donations of money from you and our PUP friends, each family was given a $50 Kroger gift card for food.
We have many to thank for making our 6th annual toy and gift drive a success again this year. First, we’d like to thank all of you for your donations, help and support for the drive. A big thank you to Carla for your leadership and support. We’re grateful for the support from John, Amy and Yohan, and the generous help from Amy Miller from Wickliffe and Angie Colvin at Southpoint.
What a joyous day we had yesterday as we picked up the gifts from Wickcliffe and sorted and bagged the gifts by family. We set a new record for sorting and bagging these gifts in under an hour! We enjoyed lunch together and time to visit with Kathleen who we were so grateful was able to join us. Many thanks to those who helped yesterday: Katie, Carla, Nancy, Cathy, Rose, Doug and Kitty, Kathleen and Abby (Kathleen’s daughter in law).
Today we had a delicious breakfast at Mark’s, loaded the gifts in the Akita SUV and our cars, went to South Campus to bag food, then delivered both the gifts and food to the site to Southpoint. Thanks to our team who helped today: Katie, Carla, Peg, Doug, Tom, Kitty and Dick, Glenn, Rose and Melody.
Thank you notes were sent via email to all of our donors on Sign Up Genius. We’ll be sending individual thank you notes to those who made monetary donations. After we take a short break over the holidays, we’ll provide recommendations for future toy drives. If you have any feedback for changes or suggestions, please let us know.
We appreciated the opportunity to coordinate the toy drive again this year and to serve in our Missions ministry.
Warmest wishes for a blessed Christmas to you and your family.
With gratitude,
Janice, Mark & Patti
