School Supply Drive

Every kid deserves a backpack and a new box of crayons to start the school year. Help us support our Heart to Heart food pantry families by donating new backpacks filled with school supplies on Sunday, August 7. Look for marked bins where your donations can be dropped off.

If you are unable to attend worship services on August 7, supplies can be dropped off in the Crane Welcome Center at South and the Rose Wing lobby at North August 1-5 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Our goal is to collect 50 backpacks to distribute to Heart to Heart clients before school starts.

The most requested school supplies across the grades are as follows:

  • Crayons
  • Glue stick
  • #2 Pencils
  • Blue or black Pens
  • Ruler
  • Wide ruled notebook paper
  • 4 pocket folders
  • 4 spiral notebooks

Please remember that students Kindergarten through High School will be recipients of these donations. The schools we are serving have requested no disinfectant wipes be sent with school supplies this year.

New Volunteer Opportunity

We are looking for a volunteer, preferably a social worker or someone with similar experience. This person would join our existing team of resource callers that answer voicemails from those looking for additional financial assistance. Requests include assistance for rent/house payments, utilities, medical bills, etc. Our team refers these clients to programs that fit their specific needs and have funding available, and helps them pursue the next step.

The group currently consists of volunteers Kitty Rohrer, Lynn Snowden, and April Bryant. They take turns checking the voicemail and returning calls for 2-3 weeks at a time. All three of these dedicated and knowledgeable volunteers have been in this role for years. They share expertise and news with one another regarding these resources, so the entire team can provide the best service to our community.

Kitty coordinates the schedule, and would be happy to discuss this opportunity with you, should you be interested. Click here to send Kitty an email.

FreshTrak 2.0 Training

PantryTrak was developed to make customer check in quick and easy so that our agencies could focus on what is most important – those you serve. PantryTrak is more than an intake software, though. Over the years, it has grown to include a number of exciting features that most agencies are not aware of. This workshop will expand your knowledge of the PantryTrak system and help you unlock even more tools that can maximize your service potential. Participants will learn how to access deeper layers of data, manage the FreshTrak reservation system, and how to troubleshoot your services to ensure 100% accuracy.

This training will be held via Zoom. You must register with your name, email address and phone number as well as your Agency Name (Heart to Heart #1042).
