Donations Needed

Heart to Heart gladly accepts donations of goods in addition to monetary donations. All non-perishable donations are to be delivered directly to First Community South. Please leave them on the red cart marked for this purpose, which is in the alley across from the dumpsters, beneath the overhang, near the kitchen doors. This is the only area Heart to Heart can accept donations outside the building. Donations left elsewhere may not be received. We ask that you do not leave donations for Heart to Heart at First Community North.

Right now, the food pantry can use:

If you have a perishable donation (fruit, meat, etc.), please drop it off during these times so our volunteers can properly and immediately store them:

  • Mondays 8:30 am – 10:30 am, 4 pm – 6 pm
  • Wednesdays 4 pm – 6 pm
  • Fridays 9 am – 11 am

Please call (614) 488-0681 x203 upon your arrival, or to make arrangements ahead of your delivery, you may email the Food Pantry Manager.

Minor Code of Conduct

Please review the Minor Code of Conduct for First Community Church (click the image below to enlarge). This policy has been approved by our Personnel Committee as an official policy regarding the safety of children in our ministries. We ask for your patience over the next several weeks as we adjust our ways to follow these guidelines. When volunteering, do your best to use good judgement, err on the side of safety, and allow us grace to figure it all out. Every one of us is responsible for the safety of the children at First Community, and together we can help to prevent abuse in their lives.

Look for more information from church leadership in the August edition of firstnews. Questions about the policy in general should be directed to Julie Richards, Director of K-5 Ministry. Questions about how the policy effects the work we do specifically at Heart to Heart can be directed to Amy Caskie, Director of Missions.

Social Media

Make sure you are following the Heart to Heart on both Facebook and Instagram. Social media is one of the best ways for the world to share information! Every time you like or comment on one of our posts, it promotes engagement across the platform. When you share our posts, the information is immediately visible to those in your circle! It quickly helps spread our message- whether it be resource information, a plea for donations, or a volunteer opportunity. Sharing on social media is an easy way to support our mission. Check out these posts from the past week to see what you may have missed.

Volunteer Training Opportunities

Mid-Ohio Food Collective Trainings

The Mid-Ohio Food Collective offers regular training opportunities for food pantry staff and volunteers. Trainings on FreshTrak and Food Safety will help you learn more about pantry operations and make you an even more effective volunteer! For most trainings, volunteers will need to register with an agency name and number: Heart to Heart Agency #1042
