Out of Office

As you may know, our director Lamar Graham is on vacation through February 1. He will be visiting Georgetown, Guyana, and we look forward to his return next week. In the meantime, should you have any questions or concerns, please contact Amy Caskie, Missions Administrator at (614) 488-0681 Ext. 106.

Inclement Weather Policy

Heart to Heart will make every attempt to remain open during regular business hours unless there is a Level 3 Snow Emergency in Franklin County. In the event we are closed, we will make note on our voicemail, on our Facebook page and here on our webpage. Volunteers for the day will be notified via email as soon as a decision to close has been made

Cooking from the Heart

“Here are some pictures from the January, 16 cooking class.  We made shepherds pie, popovers and Heather made a great fruity salmon salad with canned salmon from the pantry. Thanks everyone! Sorry to miss Mary and David Garvin this month.  Hope to have a “crew” back next month, for the February 20 class. Good health, safe travels and happy days until then!”

MLK Day of Service

OSU students on Martin Luther King Day of Service. They stocked cupboards, carried stock, packaged diapers and pet food, flattened bags, cut paper for bins, helped me rearrange, etc. This was a terrific group of kids. They were all helpful and interested in our pantry.”

Melody Smiley, Volunteer Stocking Coordinator

Hello from South America!

Lamar sent an email with a couple of photos from his trip to Guyana and a message to share:

“Took a visit to St. George Cathedral in Georgetown, Guyana. Coincidentally, it’s located on church street and is a National Monument known as the “wooden church”. Here is me of course, taking a selfie at the Botanical Gradens. This place would be the equivalent to our Franklin Park Conservatory, except, of course, for their palm trees. Neverthless ,a beautiful place. Another cool thing here are their water lilies. In fact, a water lily is their national flower and is named after the queen of England Victoria Regia.”

Powell Senior Living

“We were recently visited by some residents and staff of Powell Senior Living (PSL). During the holidays, PSL displayed a giving tree in their lobby decorated with hats and scarves donated by the residents with the purpose of giving them to Heart to Heart clients.  Many of the beautiful items were handmade by the knitting club of PSL. We know our clients will love these and we appreciate their efforts.”
