We completed our last delivery of the year for Franklinton Farms clients in November. This site is seasonal and we will resume service in the spring of next year. Through word of mouth, we’ve had inquiries from potential agency sites which we continue to explore.  We hope to be able to add more new sites sometime in the new year.

The Christmas toy and gift drive for our families at Southpoint Village Apartments continued in November with “Wish Lists” for 168 gifts fulfilled for 86 children. We will be delivering these wonderful gifts to Southpoint in mid-December. Again this year, we’re grateful for the generosity and goodwill of Wickliffe Elementary School, our church members, and our Pop Up Pantry volunteers in making Christmas special for these children.

PantryTrak 2.0

If you’ve already mastered client check-in while volunteering with us, we have an opportunity to learn even more about FreshTrak (or as we call it, PantryTrak). On December 7 at 10 am, Mid-Ohio Foodbank will host a virtual FreshTrak 2.0 training. This will take a deeper dive into the application and you will learn more about all the bells and whistles.

Ohio Benefits Training

Participants in this training will gain a better understanding of ways to connect eligible individuals to SNAP Benefits, including the ability to pre-screen and use Ohio Benefits Self Service Portal. Participants will be able to determine the right outreach strategy for their agency. Ohio Benefits Training December 9 at 10 am.

We continue to identify potential agency sites and new volunteers for the expansion of our Pop Up Pantry on Thursday afternoons. This month, we completed the initial delivery for our second Thursday afternoon site, Riverview International Center.

Our expansion would not be possible without our dedicated team of volunteers, including those who drive the van to our sites:  Glenn Zook, Steve Young, Mark Tucker, and Boyce Lancaster.  In October, Les Sauer joined our team of drivers to assist our newest site, Riverview International Center, on the 4th Thursday of every month.   They serve a critical role in ensuring we can serve many clients and families at our agency sites.

Other volunteers currently assisting the Pop Up Pantry are Cathy Wheaton, Katie Halley, Carol Bramschreiber, and Bruce and Ellen Crouthamel.

The Christmas toy and gift drive for our families at Southpoint Village Apartments is underway!   “Wish Lists” of gifts for 110 children have been received.  We look forward to working with Wickliffe Elementary School and church members again this year who, through their generosity, will be making Christmas wishes come true for these children.

We still need volunteers to help us move into the Crane Center next Friday. The tent will be leaving the property shortly after. We are looking for people that can do the heavy lifting and carrying next Friday, Nov 12. We will be moving most of the equipment from the tent into the niche outside Burkhart Chapel for storage. Every week we will set up Monday and tear down Thursday so the space can be used for other activities over the weekend. Sign up here to volunteer.

Beginning November 15, you will see a few volunteer shift changes. In order to accommodate other activities in the building, Monday morning stocking will be pushed back to starting at 9:30 am. For better workflow, the preshop shift held late Monday morning will be moved to Fridays, prior to the aforementioned stocking shift. We will be adding a shift at the beginning of each week to set up for the drive-thru inside the Crane Center. This will involve setting up tables and moving boxes. At the end of the week, we will add a shift for tearing down and storing the setup over the weekend. This will allow for better movement inside the building during weekend activities, especially worship services. We are grateful to the First Community Facilities staff for working with us during this transition. We will keep you abreast of changes via email and blog posts!

This workshop will provide the fundamentals to get started with Pantry Trak at your agency. Participants with learn how to administer the intake process using Pantry Trak and will be guided on best practices for developing an efficient process in registering your clients. For agencies already using Pantry Trak, this workshop will be helpful as a refresher of the basics.

Training will be held virtually via ZOOM. Once you have registered you will be sent the link for the Zoom approximately 48 hours prior to the training session. Please make sure you register with your name, email address and phone number as well as your Agency Name and ID Number. (Heart to Heart Agency 1042).
